Before I create anything (social post, blog post, new program, etc.), I usually test it out in Instagram Stories first.
This helps guide me in creating anything in my business before I actually put the work in to create the actual content. It’s important to ask the people who are following me if the content actually resonates with them and if I’m actually having conversations with people on topics that matter to them. I have been able to develop awesome relationships with people who became clients, colleagues, and friends by opening myself up to these conversations.
I challenge you to post something every single day and ask for feedback from your audience. Let the info you gather inform your next move.
Takeaways:
Stories help me to land on new podcast topics, masterclass, and carousel topics. I’ll do a 1 minute video where I talk about something and use a poll to understand my audience's perspective.
This strategy has also allowed me to embrace the “everything is content trend” (check out episode 318 for more on this). Through Stories I'll share a video that is representative of my business values. Things like spending time with my family, baseball games, or walking to the bus stop at 3:00 in the afternoon are some of my most commonly shared videos. I'll then use those videos in Reels, which creates continuinuity between my Stories and my Feed.
Testing EVEYRYTHING out, and I mean EVERYTHING! It’s as simple as me dropping a question box, responding to the engagement prompts. Because I have been doing this, I have seen an increase in engagement, increased podcast listeners, and more attendance at live events.
